Marlo Spaeth worked at Walmart for 16 years.

She had Down syndrome.

Then Walmart changed her hours.

The new schedule disrupted her routine so badly that it affected her health, including when she could eat dinner.

Marlo and her sister asked Walmart to simply return her to the schedule she had successfully worked for years.

Walmart refused.

Then they fired her for “absenteeism.”

A jury heard the case.

It took them about 3 hours to award her more than $125 million.

The amount was later reduced under federal law.
